Welcome to the Office of Distance Education in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. We are located on the 5th floor of the Social Sciences building in the Dean's Suite, Room 5018. The Office of Distance Education offers support to CHSS faculty and staff in designing, developing, and delivering online and hybrid courses and programs. Part of that support includes our "Build a Web Course Workshop," which won the Sloan-C Award for Excellence in Online Teaching and Learning: Excellence in Faculty Development for Online Teaching.
The mission of our office is to support faculty and staff in implementing and using technology in their courses, to support the growth of hybrid and online courses, and to support the growth of hybrid and online programs.
Available Equipment
The Office of Distance Education has equipment available for checkout to CHSS faculty. These items include:

- headphones
- web cams
- iPads
- scanner
- WACOM tablets
- thumbpoints (15,000 copyright free images and backgrounds, and 35+ PowerPoint templates)
